What gas is used in chemical laboratory?

A chemical laboratory is a place where you experiment with chemicals and try to make new compounds and yet be safe! You will have a lot to experiment and control. You will also have to use a lot of equipment to aid in your research. Thus, there is one such kind of instrument you cannot miss. We are talking about the laboratory gas. Though it is having a broad meaning to it, it means that there are a lot of things which it can do. It can be used as a carrier gas in some of the methods of gas chromatography or it can be used to support other instruments of the lab.

Whatever use this has, it needs to be protected and require vigilant analysis in the laboratory so as to match the specifications of the manufacturer.

Also, you need the gas to calibrate it with other instruments which is why you need to know what kind of gases you can use as laboratory gas. Here is the list of gases you can use:

~ Pure Gases
~ Air
~ Carbon Dioxide
~ Carbon Monoxide
~ Helium, Krypton
~ Argon, Oxygen
~ Hydrogen
~ Neon
~ Xenon
~ Research and UHP Chemical Gases
~ Gas mixtures
~ Laser Gas Mixtures etc.

Also, in schools you use a Bunsen Burner which is a common instrument used in the chemical laboratories to produce heat or single open gas flame. And this gas is used for many purposes like the heating, combustion or sterilization. Also, the gas which is mostly used is the natural gas which contains methane.

Therefore, you need to be careful so that you don’t inhale a large amount of this gas. This is because it is very lethal in the body.
