What is the use of student kymograph?

Kymographs aren’t very familiar unless you are into their field. They are mainly used in the field of zoology. It is also known as kymographion. This is a device which depicts a graphical representation of spatial position over the time and the spatial axis represents the time. This was invented in 1840 by a German physiologist and primarily founded it to regulate and monitor blood pressure.

This device went through loads of changes and slowly it was used to measure the physiological processes like breathing, muscle movement and speech. This device is basically a revolving drum entwined with a sheet of paper on which the stylus moves back and forth and recording motion and pressure.

Kymographs were also used to measure the atmospheric pressure, vibrations of the tuning forks, animal habitats, movement of molecules in the cells.

But Kymographs are also used in zoology.

They help in the study of the effects of xenobiotic on the tissue preparations. They can also be used with collaboration of other apparatus such as organ bath.

Now what is a student kymograph and what are its features?

A student kymograph is a device which is used to record some changes of phenomena like motion and pressure. They are known for its durability, accuracy, great performance. These devices are used in laboratories for the graphical representation of spatial position.

Features:

The drums are electrically drove and they are quite suitable for students to perform any kind of general experiments. The drive mechanism of this device has the speed electric motor and a great gear box which is in the base together. It also has double electric contact arms which are clamped. The thick double contact block is on the top of the base. There are a few other details of this device which help in its functioning.
