Use of analytical balance in chemistry laboratory!
An analytical balance is type of balance which is used mostly used in the chemical laboratory. It is designed to measure the smaller masses which are in the milligram range. The measuring pan of the analytical balance is in a transparent enclosed place where there are doors. This is to ensure that there is no dust entering into the room so as to not affect the balance operation. When you are using the analytical balance in the laboratory, you should make sure that the sample is supposed to be at room temperature. Also, this is done so that the natural convection does not form any sort of air currents. Electronic analytical balances only measure the force which is required to counter the mass being measured.
Also, the calibration should be perfect so as to adjust to the gravitational effects.
This analytical balance which is used in the chemical laboratory can detect the mass of every minute grain of the chemical substance. Thus, if you go by the direct weighing method then the substance may be measured wrongly. That’s the reason why you should never directly hold the pan or place a weighing paper on the pan.
There are three type of analytical balances: Symmetrical, Asymmetrical and Radial. These offer different looks and features but they work on the same principle.

This is because the balances are able to give accurate information on the measurements of chemical substances. They measure up to four decimal places. They are extremely sensitive instruments and are up to the detail. You need to take care of several factors so as to not cause any disturbances in their reading.
