Variety of gauges in aggregate testing!
There are a lot of speculations that what is aggregate testing and what are the different kinds of gauges which are used in this process. So, here is a small detail of what exactly is this whole cycle is about and what types of gauges are used.
As you all know that aggregate and concrete are used in construction of many buildings. Thus, these need to be strictly verified and tested every time they are used to construct any building. Thus, this testing is required & therefore, is quite important. Normally, the mentioned and concrete testing is done by a third party service who would certify if the particular is fit for the construction purposes or not.
Now, there are various gauges which help you in the process of aggregate testing. You just need to know what kind of gauging equipment you need to use. For instance, take the thickness gauge. It is used to determine the material if their thickness is less than their required size. In layman’s terms, it is used to measure if the particles in the clump are flaky or thin. Also, these gauges help in measuring the elongation index of that material.
Now, for measuring the length of the aggregate material, length gauges are used. These are used for determining when the collecting particles are known to be elongated more than the required length. These gauges are made of wooden base and brass plate. They are also made of steel pins.
There is another equipment which helps in testing this category. This is the grid sieve set. It helps in determining how much flaky the clump is or what the flakiness index is. Also, the sieves which help in the determining process, they are built up with electrostatically painted frame and also stainless steel bars with a diameter of mere 5mm.
Thus, these are the variety of gauges which are useful in aggregate testing.
