In this apparatus, the wire under test is held in self centering steel chucks which is capable of holding wires of 1.2 mm diameter (18 SWG) with a micrometer head reading to 0.01 mm is provided for re-adjusting the sprit level. Our searles apparatus is supplied complete with ceiling bracket having itself a pair of chucks similar to those on the frame, counter-poise weight, and set of suitable wires, without slotted masses.
