The lower specimen grip is mounted ona disc which rotates freely. The soil sample is mounted on the lower specimen grip and the upper grip is firmly seated on top of the specimen. To control the depth of the cut, the vertical guide can be adjusted and the lower dis is rotated by hand while trimming. Trimming knife, mounted on a support, can be adjusted horizontally as well as vertically to permit trimming of the specimen to the exact size of the ring. Complete with 38mm, 50mm, 75mm and 100mm dia specimen rings and is supplied complete with a wire saw.
